Pancake Day

February 28, 2006

Today is Pancake Day, and Mr. Crumpet and Orange Bear couldn’t be more excited. Armed with knorks, they attack Mrs. Crumpet’s special Icelandic* pancakes.

“Yay, powdered sugar!” exclaims Orange Bear.

Mr. Crumpet watches his bear friend hop up and down. “Just how much sugar did you sprinkle on those pancakes?”

Pancake Day, known also as Shrove Tuesday, is more commonly celebrated outside the States. However, IHOPs around the U.S. offered a free short stack of pancakes during breakfast today.

*In Iceland, Pancake Day is known as Sprengidagur, or “Bursting Day.”
