Phil the Owl with Kung Fu Grip

April 20, 2006

Phil the Owl will unleash his Death Blossom moves when he gets his wings on a Nintendo Revolution, to be released this fall.

"Beware the nunchaku controller," Phil says, narrowing his eyes.

One Revolution game above all others warrants Phil's saucer-eyed attention: Super Mario 128, the long-rumored sequel to 1996's Super Mario 64, widely considered one of the greatest video games of all time.

(Super Mario 64)

"I played that game until my wing feathers fell out." (He also claims not to be biased by Hoot the Owl's cameo.)

Phil is certain ("Can there be any doubt?") that legendary Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto will not disappoint.

"He's the Musashi Miyamoto of video games."
