Of Mice and Bears

Every Christmas (it seems), Dedushka Yevgeny calls from the big city to the northwest and recounts his annual Nutcracker pilgrimage.

It doesn’t take long before he expresses his enduring dislike for the giant Mouse King and his minions.

“Terrible, hideous, dishonorable,” he sputters.

“Surely even the mice are deserving of your goodwill at this time of year, Yevgeny,” says Mr. Crumpet.

Yevgeny mutters and grumbles.

“Keep working on him,” suggests Orange Bear.
