For just the 15th time in recorded history (since 1886), Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow — insofar as the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club Inner Circle could determine.
Phil’s prediction of an early spring was also confirmed today by his Southern counterpart, General Beauregard Lee.
When asked to comment on the Groundhog Day predictions from his home in the wintry city to the northwest, Dedushka Yevgeny snorted, “Pah! Rodents.”
Our Phil (the Owl) asked, “I don’t understand. Why not use the latest in meteorological technology, the DMSP Block 5D-3 satellite?”
